Fitness Gear

You don’t need much equipment to get fit

Don’t be fooled into thinking that simply BUYING the gear will make you fit – you can get fit with no gear at all! You could do pushups and situps in your lounge and rely on gravity and your body weight, or step outside for a walk or run.

However, having the right fitness clothing and equipment can make the experience of getting fit a whole lot easier and more fun. Buying fitness gear also motivates certain people to maintain a fitness programme because they have invested money in it.

Some of the essentials include:

  • Good running or cross-training shoes
  • Comfortable exercise clothing
  • Gym timer e.g. Gym Boss
  • Yoga mat for stretching
  • Sweat towel

Home vs gym

If you are setting up a home gym you will of course need to invest in all the equipment you will need – which is why getting a gym membership can be a good option. Gyms also maintain and upgrade equipment, so you simply show up and work off a sweat without worrying about the equipment. The downside though is that you have to share the equipment and this may mean waiting in line during busy times.
