Poured Earth Construction

Poured Earth Construction

Poured earth is mixed and formed similar to concrete and uses cement as the main binding agent. So instead of using gravel or sand as is the usual in aggregate in building with concrete, poured earth uses ordinary soil and less cement.

The poured earth mixture is pumped into a pre-built shutter system and left to dry. The result is a maintenance free walling of moderate strength in comparison to poured concrete.

This is not an inexpensive building technique as often the shutter systems and mix pumping require specialist equipment and knowledge. Poured earth can however be a low cost building technique when you have a the right natural and resources and equipment at your disposal.
