Strawbale construction is a technique that utilizes straw bales as building bricks and insulation in the straw bale structure. Straw bales are being more often used in new “natural building” structures. The straw construction has several advantages over standard construction methods due to its low-cost, high-availability and thermal-insulation properties.
The basic techniques used in straw bale construction are similar to brick construction (Think very big straw bricks) with a concrete and wire / chicken wire binder.
