Styles of yoga

Yoga has developed into many styles over time and each has a particular focus.

The most well-known yoga styles include:

Sivananda yoga

This style is very traditional and is widely practiced world-wide.

Bikram yoga

Made popular by celebrities like Madonna, Bikram yoga involves performing poses in a heated classroom for maximum intensity. These classes can last up to 90 minutes.


Ananda yoga

This is a great style for beginners and places less importance on strength and flexibility than other styles.

Integral yoga

Another good style for those not very flexible, integral yoga focuses on meditation and chanting.

Kripula yoga

With this style of yoga you will focus on body alignment and improving your coordination.

Iyengar yoga

This form focuses on structure and alignment and can only be taught by a qualified instructor.
