Exogenous ketones DON’T help keto diets with muscle mass

A new study suggests that adding ketone salts to a well formulated ketogenic diet doesn’t improve muscle mass or body composition. But a ketogenic diet by itself already improves weight loss and body composition. Although this study didn’t explore other factors, a keto diet likely is even better for body composition when combined with exercise and higher protein.
