New drug for Alzheimer’s– Hope or expensive disappointment?
The FDA approved a new drug for Alzheimer’s disease. But unfortunately, the drug, which will cost $56,000 a year, has no proof that it actually works. Decisions like these highlight the unbalanced approach to researching and promoting drugs instead of lifestyle interventions. Did you know there is encouraging preliminary data that a ketogenic diet can help with symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease? We need as much interest and enthusiasm in lifestyle interventions as we seem to have for expensive and unproven medications.
