The 30-year-old admitted her lack of sleep is caused by the gas station shooting she witnessed and her PCOS battle.

She spoke about how the shooting and her PCOS have negatively impacted her health during Tuesday’s episode of Teen Mom OG

During Tuesday’s episode of Teen Mom OG, Maci appeared exhausted as she said in a voiceover: “Witnessing the shooting has given be debilitating insomnia.

“The lack of sleep and my PCOS makes it so much harder to regulate my blood sugar.”

PCOS- which stands for Polycystic ovary syndrome- is when the ovaries produce an abnormal amount of androgens, which are male sex hormones that women typically only have small amounts of.

Later in the episode, Maci’s husband Taylor McKinney suggested Maci talk to a doctor about her PCOS.

The MTV star responded: “I’m tired of doctors.

“I feel defeated, so I don’t want to get my hopes up.”

Maci then FaceTimed her friends from a PCOS support group, where she discussed her health struggles.

After sharing she has been struggling with “severe fatigue,” she said: “I’m not gonna act like I put a lot of effort into finding a good diet.

“I realize that I’m not taking care of myself.”

Maci concluded: “I’ll be 30 this year and I want to start now so that I’m not, 10 years later, turning 40 and I haven’t done anything.”

As the emotional storyline played out, Teen Mom viewers rushed to Twitter to praise Maci for bringing attention to her PCOS battle.

One person wrote: “Being a woman who struggles with Infertility, PCOS, and mental health.. I truly understand where @MaciBookout is coming from. Thank you for truly speaking out and bringing light to this disease!”

Another added: “Thank you Maci for talking about PCOS because it is no joke.”

Last season, Maci witnessed a horrific shooting at a gas station that has caused her to suffer from PTSD.

She has continued to suffer from PTSD in recent episodes and admitted she was worried about how witnessing a shooting last season is impacting her relationship with her son Bentley, 12.

The MTV star said during last week’s episode: “A lot of the time me and Bentley used to spend together was in the car, but I haven’t been going to pick him up from school and I don’t want him thinking that I’m not interested or I don’t want to or that I don’t care.”

Maci added: “I want to be able to bring it up and talk to him about it without seeming like it’s something he needs to be concerned about or worried about.

“Cause that’s not the case at all. It’s just tough because if I expect him to be open and transparent and straightforward about how he’s feeling or what he’s going through, then I have to lead by example.

“Especially when it comes to mental health. It’s nothing to be ashamed of.”

The Teen Mom star concluded: “If I don’t show him that I’m human, then he’s gonna expect from himself to not be human.”

Maci shares Bentley with ex Ryan Edwards, who has a strained relationship with their son.

She also is the mother to son Maverick, five, and daughter Jayde, six, with husband Taylor.
